Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how the NSFW Subreddit Directory collects, uses, and protects your information. We believe in transparency and minimal data collection. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described below. Please also review our Terms of Service.

1. Overview

Your privacy matters to us. The NSFW Subreddit Directory ("the Service") is designed with a privacy-first approach. We do not require user accounts, we do not track your browsing behavior, and we collect the absolute minimum amount of data necessary to operate the Service. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your data when using our NSFW subreddit directory and catalog.

2. Information We Collect

We categorize the information we handle into two types: Information You Voluntarily Provide If you choose to contact us through our Contact Us form, we collect: • Your email address — used exclusively to respond to your inquiry • The type of inquiry you select (General, Feature Request, Bug Report, or Feedback) • The message content you write This information is submitted voluntarily and is processed through Formspree, a third-party form handling service. Information Stored Locally on Your Device When you bookmark subreddits, this data is saved to your browser's local storage. Bookmark data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers. Clearing your browser data will permanently remove your bookmarks. Information We Do Not Collect We do not collect, store, or process: • Names, addresses, or phone numbers • Payment or financial information • Browsing history or search queries • Device fingerprints or unique identifiers for tracking purposes • Social media profiles or login credentials

3. How We Use Information

Information collected through the Contact Us form is used solely to: • Respond to your inquiry, question, or feedback • Address bug reports and improve the Service based on user suggestions • Communicate with you about your submission if follow-up is needed We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing, advertising, or any commercial purposes.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Service uses browser local storage to persist your bookmarked subreddits. This is a client-side technology and no data is transmitted to our servers. We may use strictly essential cookies required for the website to function properly (such as those set by our hosting provider). We may also use analytics cookies to understand site traffic and improve the Service. These analytics cookies help us learn which pages are visited most often and how users navigate the site, without collecting personally identifiable information. We do not use: • Third-party advertising cookies • Social media tracking pixels • Cross-site tracking technologies When you first visit the Service, a cookie consent banner is displayed allowing you to accept or decline analytics cookies. Your preference is saved in your browser's local storage. If you decline, no analytics cookies will be set. You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser's local storage.

5. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on the following third-party service providers, each with their own privacy policy: • Supabase — Database hosting and storage for subreddit metadata (community names, descriptions, subscriber counts, categories). No personal user data is stored in our database. • Formspree — Processes submissions from our Contact Us form. Your email and message are transmitted to Formspree's servers when you submit the form. Review Formspree's privacy policy for details on how they handle submitted data. • Vercel — Provides hosting, CDN, and serving infrastructure for the website. Vercel may collect standard server logs (IP addresses, request timestamps) as part of normal web hosting operations. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these services for complete information on their data handling practices.

6. External Links and Third-Party Content

The Service contains links to Reddit subreddits and other external websites. When you click a link to leave our site, you are subject to the privacy policy and terms of service of the destination website. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security of Reddit, any individual subreddit, or any other external site linked from the Service. We recommend reviewing the privacy settings and policies of any third-party site you visit.

7. Data Retention

Contact form submissions are retained only for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and for reasonable internal record-keeping. You may request deletion of any data you have submitted by contacting us through the Contact Us form. Subreddit metadata displayed on the Service (names, descriptions, subscriber counts, statuses) is publicly available information sourced from Reddit's public interfaces. This data is retained and updated for as long as the Service operates.

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited data we process. Our website is served over HTTPS to encrypt data in transit. Our database provider (Supabase) implements industry-standard security practices including encryption at rest. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of any information you transmit to us or that we store. You use the Service and submit information at your own risk.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is strictly intended for adults who are at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in their jurisdiction, whichever is greater. We do not knowingly collect, solicit, or store personal information from anyone under 18 years of age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a minor has provided personal information to us through the Contact Us form, please contact us immediately so we can delete that information.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data, including: • The right to access the personal information we hold about you • The right to request correction of inaccurate data • The right to request deletion of your data • The right to object to or restrict certain processing Because we collect minimal data and do not maintain user accounts, these rights primarily apply to information submitted through our Contact Us form. To exercise any of these rights, please reach out through our Contact Us page.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy from time to time. Your continued use of the Service after any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. If changes are significant, we will make reasonable efforts to provide more prominent notice.
